The Maplin MosFet Amp

Post by sinus trouble » Fri Nov 24, 2017 10:58 pm

Hello Necks! :)
A bit off topic but still relevant to audio gear, So I thought id upload it for nostalgic value!
Debated many times by audiophiles over the years? I think it was a great kit providing the PSU was up to standards!
I couldn't seem to upload the final page? But if requested I will send!

Figure 3 is drawn incorrectly. The numbers for Vgs are in reverse order. They should go from one to ten with Vgs = 1 closest to the number 50 on the x axis (for Vds).

I've still got a couple of those in a box of junk somewhere here. They were really good for high level modulation of 50 Watt Medium Wave rigs!
"Why is my rig humming?"
"Because it doesn't know the words!"

This circuit has been modified soo many times yet the literature stayed original!
I remember building mine years ago and most of the components didn't match the parts list lol
I guess replaced by newer 'modern' components, A fun build all the same though! :)
