seems like london pirates are struggling now, i remember a couple years ago everything used to get out really well, but now days it seems like everything is struggling to get into essex, i read something somewhere about people having to use lower rig sites wich is a shame, looks like it is dying off slowly, hope this isnt the case :tup

It's a combination of lower sites, fewer sites, crap engineering and no clue about using aerials for fun and profit! Also the proliferation of the small legal silly licences (so restricted that they're sure to go bust in months) use up the available spaces on the band.

The noise floor has also risen - partly due to the additional stations on the air and partly because of the overall increase in background electrical noise because of the proliferation of cheap 'n' nasty switched-mode power supplies and battery chargers and partly because of the lax regulation on electrical noise EMC.

I can receive Origin 95.1 almost noise free during the night and very much listenable but in the day time it's usually over powered by the noise.

The problem is probably local to you - what's switched off nearby at the end of the business day?

I remember hearing flava & shine weak at my old address, they must of been pretty good, perhaps they'll just do what they did in sheffield, they blew up all the flats

i'd love to hear a pirate from sheffield again, don't think i've heard 1 in the whole 10 years i've lived here, sweet/big fm was quite cool, always liked the ruff round the edges quality to them :D

I never listened to dab once and its in my car im just a realist dab is gonna take over and pirates will go there soon enough proberly the next the 5 years or so it will happen yes its very sad but life i certainly dont support it but even now the pirate scene excists in london only its died everywhere else. Birmingham had 10 or more stations two years ago now they have 2 same as leeds and even manchester has none at all anymore! From london to birmingham theres none there used to be 5 or so. Essex and kent only has 2 now also and had over 10 before the money and audience have gone
