Hello...

Post by RFI » Wed Apr 04, 2018 11:26 am

Hello,

I'm one of those peoplewho grew up in the Pirate era of the 1960s but was too young to notice.... then tried unsuccesfully to find non-mainstream broadcasting in the 1970s (thwarted by location and cheap transistor radios - picking up Luxembourg clearly was a major achievement..).

Here we are years later, and I'm now involved with radio via the internet, producing Radio Frankenstein International, a weekly music programme on Hive Community Radio, an internet station based in South Tyneside.

The programme is devised around "sort of pirate" imagery and feel (hence the logo), emphasis on the music, no dj - instead an automated voice announcer (actually, this latter came about because my only decent mic was f*cked and I couldn't afford a new one, so used a text-to-voice instead, and it stuck...).

Details of the show, and of Hive Community Radio, will be posted in what I hope are the appropriate sections.
