CB from the very beginning

Post by hill topper » Thu Oct 22, 2015 8:24 pm

Hi I am hill topper because I like height, don't we all! Was at the start of CB with a 250mW HH on 27.125 lived on the 19th floor of a tower block in London close to Euston Stn got out quite well later got a Sommerkamp coffee warmer that really got out, had a dipole made of wire, started a under ground news letter called Band Stand, lived in Fleet Street news paper land so got all the papers with the CB news this was during the days of the naulty 40 on AM, went on a lot of matches and was on the committee of NATCOLOBAR don't ask me what that stands for, talked a lot for CB on LBC and Capital radio, was on TV as well, after all this we got the UK FM system, now after all these years because of digital TV we have what we wanted AM FM and SSB with hopefully no TVI or BCi so keep it clean.
