I heard there's been something that must be very low powered that's been on and off 88.2 around the SW London/Surrey area if it's the same one...

He moved back to his native home, as his Father was ill, so moved back and no one really wanted to step up and keep Ruud moving on.

Stylee and co tried to keep it moving forward, and for a while Outlaw and Wise of Flex fm fame also got involved a took on setting up.

Rude FM split due to the differences in which the best way was to take the station forward.

50/50 and some wanted to keep it MC free and keep it running that way.

Chillium was one of the main people who said he wanted mc's to come on board. So the Split took place, Chillium kept 104.3 calling it Ruud Awakening, and the rest kept the Rude name and moved to 88.2.

Ruud and Rude - continued to run at the same time, but Awakening did come to an end really when Chillium had to move back Cyprus due family reasons.

Syrus, Stylee tried to keep it going along with Damaja, everyone pitched in. But really with out Chilium it took its toll. Outlaw of Flex fm, who was on the station at the time came on board with setting up Ruud.

But by that point the station was very inconsistent, and some of the faces had moved on to Kool and Origin, and the flex boys were getting ready for the return of Flex FM. SO Ruud came to an end.

Great studio location, covering most of London, and for some period it was the biggest DnB station on the London Dial.

Rude 88.2 have really had such a struggle since 2008 on getting out, were using Awakenings old blocks, got out a bit better, but maybe poor set up as Awakening banged out from those blocks.

Over the passed 5 years there have been some crack heads targeting stations using the blocks in that area, Origin were the last station to have the crack head treatment, and their fm consistences really suffered.

Was this actually Killa giving Origin a hard time, or someone else? Didn't they have a run in with another station a while back and were blocking each others links or something?

Yep it all seemed to go down hill from there with barely any live DJ shows and then to no live shows, and then there was a couple of months of just TXing white noise before they were never to be heard again. :rip

Yes it was I remember and I think the decline of uknown was one of the biggest mysteries in the history of free radio and the fact that very few of the djs are on any radio now

Does anyone know if you can see how many people listen to Rude on the internet? As their Dj's have stayed very loyal to the Rude cause. I am sure most people on here prefer FM only, and we all know that when FM is off and your only online the buzz and listeners vanish.

Just wondering if Rude have a really strong internet following World wide?

I listen online occasionally to Rude, partly because I don't live the country now days... To be honest, pirates don't seem to have the same magic as when on the air. Kind of miss the crackles and interference when driving around London. Used to love driving down the A10 and seeing the aerials upon the blocks in Edmonton etc. Something kind of mysterious and intriguing about it all. I know there are some pretty poor stations out there, but you have to admire the effort people put in.

If its not on the fm it's lost the buzz and is never as easy as just turning on the radio?

just checked rude's stream and had 17 listeners at the time, max 29 since the stream was last restarted. Can be done with any stream, just paste the link of the stream (I referred to the stream links thread) and take out the /listen.pls at the end, therefore the last thing in the address should just be the stream's IP.

As little as that? terrible amount so that means that maybe all the online stations are only on about 50?doesn't seem worth it but it's good that they carry on
