I heard it around Wandsworth and Clapham, must've been very local as it was very strong.

How about "Radio Red Flag - London's first Socialist Radio Station"? Way back in the late 70s.

It used to appear on Bank Holidays as a spoof: "I'm Red Len, and I've just been voted behind the microphone......"

It was actually very funny, and came from Islington (appropriately enough).
"Why is my rig humming?"
"Because it doesn't know the words!"
