There is a low powered pirate on air in the Romford area on 87.7 playing classic rock and calling itself RTL Rock Radio. RTL used to be the satellite rock station from the Netherlands and they are using the same jingle package. There are no dj's it seems, just back to back music interspersed with jingles and ads for a long running publication called Offshore Echoes Magazine. It sounds very professional and is obviously run by old school anoraks. Doesn't get out very far, a couple of miles maybe a bit more but suffers badly when IHR is also on 87.7.

Ads for Offshore Echos used to pop up on some of the south east shortwave weekend pirates and the radio caroline "revival". Wonder if there's a link here? :tup

Wouldn't be at all surprised mate. It's the sort of musical content you would get on Caroline and the SW rock pirates. I know the guys from the SW pirate Laser Hot Hits. I may have to do a bit of investigation work. I actually quite like classic rock and as I live in the Romford area and can pick it up clearly' I'm quite enjoying it. The audio quality is superb.

There is a new station called Escape on 87.8. Could be that?
