Programme content.

Post by SamTheDog » Tue Aug 20, 2019 7:43 am

Most of the pirate stations I come across either FM or shortwave just run music shows. Anyone else out there doing anything a bit more political / anti government etc...?

Many stations stick to music and stay on for hours / days at a time. But there must be a limit to how interesting "sounds like caroline" oldies SW/MW stations can be. and many of the FM stations sound much the same...

I don't live in London but I heard a few months back that something popped up on 90.6 which (from what I gather) is more focussed towards the type of said content above, when it's not sat there on a silent carrier for days, that is...

My ''Radio Brian'' is basically a music show.

However, the chat in between is like nothing else on the airwaves...

Rage FM. They've had talk shows and even ran The Artist Taxi Driver's video rants in between the music in the past. They have cut back on it a bit. It brought them too much attention not only from Ofcom but also rather jealous and childish community station staff who would track and sabbotage the rigs regularly. They still read out the weather though :)

Rage FM.
I heard they recently made a come back.

...Think they tend to only really use low power though and just cover their local area.

It's a real pity when ofcom and other stations who think that they know-better choose to take these stations off-air whenever possible. I personally think that it's these stations that are more worth listening too....

Better than radio 4, But then again, so many stations are better than radio 4....

Sam - you're right!

Pretty much anything's better than the PC rubbish served up on Radio 4. Up until the mid-80s (about the time of the Miner's Strike), Radio 4 was the premier news source in the UK. These days it's lost the plot - it's unlistenable dross. Their "flagship" news and current affairs programme shuld be renamed "The Toady Programme", as they'll only broadcast politicians and commentators who agree with their socialist, globalist, anti-Brexit stance.

There's a fine book out at the moment called "The Noble Liar" by Robin Aitkin. I don't agree with his religious nonsense, but he quite accurately charts the demise of the BBC and its collapse into the morass of self-serving dreck that it broadcasts today. There are several other books recently published on the same topic, and all amply demonstrate the bias and partisanship shown by an organisation that was meant to be a paragon of impartiality.

It's actually very difficult to get to read, view or listen to impartial news coverage these days. The imbecilic lefties howl down anyone who disagrees with them, and the Pound-Shop Greenies - "Extinction Rebellion" - are a poor joke: They were probably set up to discredit the Green agenda!

It would be interesting (but logistically difficult) to set up an impartial broadcaster....

If you think radio 4's output is socialist you really are too far gone.

I can't help but feel that certain forum members version of impartiality would actually just be a propaganda channel run by the current dictatorship that has grasped control of the UK.

Having actually sat in on editorial meetings in Broadcasting House, I can assure you that their agenda is based on the Frankfurt School of propagandising. The Frankfurt School was a Marxist cabal set up to influence and infiltrate western media - read up on it, it's fascinating. https://www.iep.utm.edu/frankfur/ Their acolytes and adherents have wormed their way into broadcasting and advertising throughout the western world. The globalist, leftist agenda is all that's broadcast by the BBC. They don't support Jeremy the Magic Grandad (who was elected to his position as a joke by Tories who signed up for Millibrain's £3 memberships), but their agenda is entirely socialist. They see Corbyn as a funny irrelevance.

Remember - socialist governments always fail when they run out of other people's money to squander. That's what happened to the Bliar version of the Labour Party: Bliar baled out when it became clear that they were heading for a financial crash (as usual) and handed the reins over to the Scottish Cyclops. Brown didn't realise that he'd been stitched up - and still doesn't!

The good news is that there's a planned review of the BBC. The "Select Committee" will be charged with demonstrating just why their Royal Charter should be revoked, and the various networks will be sold off. All successive British governments have wholly underestimated the value of having a broadcast mouthpiece, and the current lot will probably make the same mistake. This time it will be permanent - the BBC will be broken up into its constituent parts and sold off to the highest bidders. I plan to offer £10 or so for Radio 2.......

I was at a protest outside the BBC on Saturday, and recorded some stuff for the next show going out next weekend... Up on the roof of bush-house were some bods from the beeb... Not a sodding journalist in sight for the four hours we were there... I can get away with putting out shows that are current. and rather rude... They can't....

Though, it is a pity they can;t be bothered to pop outside with a microphone and recorder.

I do find mainstream news broadcasting a bit weary and confined.... and it would be cool to hear from like-minded stations....

If you take radio 2 for a tenner Albert... I'll take over radio Kent.. (I have some small change)... I'm a self confessed anarchist. so the programme content could be amusing for a short time.... (until all the party-political-peoples run me up the radio mast...)....
