No they're not and that was very cheeky of a community station from the very same area to change their name from Bang FM to The Beat FM.
....As a result 101.9 changed their name to Real Beat.

But on that note it was also well cheeky of Beat FM to change from 107.1 to 101.9 back in 1997 and completely wipe out Freek FM to me out in Surrey and all across West London!

Bang was and is a rubbish station and I hated that name and I suppose they thought that as the real beat was a pirate they would have no copyright protection but a rubbish decision for community relations and I remember also freek was wiped out by 101.9 not only by beat but there was also another pirate for a short while called breeze back in 1998 that also wiped out 101.8 does anyone remember them?

Yeah I remember Breeze FM but it was in 1996 not 1998. ....Beat FM was on 101.9 by 1998.
One thing I particularly remember of that Breeze FM station was a female MC called MC Orgasm.

Thanks for clarifying that, bit of a radio history knowledge gap there! I remember listening to DJ Sidewinder's Dub Machine on Beat FM 101.9 in 2015 or so, have a few recordings. When was their last logging?

The real beat 101.9 has been off about 2 years

Last time I was in their area they had their gamma-matched aerial extremely low on top of a 2 storey hair dressers shop and were only covering about a 4 mile radius.

Cheers for that I don't think house fm has come back after a very short lived run last year on 90.2 after pointblank went legal leaveing 90.2 after holding on to it for a very impressive 14 year's and I think weekend rush might be back on 90.2 soon?
