its seems there are three others that got it too! Wonder what frequencies they are going to hand out to them.
One of the stations granted a licence was in Hammersmith so wonder if they are going to get 101.4

Wonder who's going to jump onto 99.7 when Flex switch off think there will be a bum fight for it!

I wonder if they will switch off the pirate 99.7 before the weekend is over I think rinse was on for about a week before they went off so no luck for house fm then they were never going to give both of them a licence if it had been house it would have only been able to have been heard in the east flex will be in the west I think

I think misoul had no chance because it's already on London wide dab and the fact that they went for it shows how many people still want fm before dab?

Anyone want to bet how long "Flex" will last? We should run a sweepstake!

Remember - they're not allowed to make money, can't pay their staff, and have to provide "media training courses" for the "socially disadvantaged" and "ethnically challenged"!

I give them 6 months.

Any other bets?

If we're going that route why not a Rock station or a Smooth type...its for the community remember, not the Majority on here that seem to be Dance orientated..don't get me wrong, i'm all for another set up playing dnb etc, just stating the fact theirs already this Type out there

Id like to start by saying congratulations to Flex for gaining a licence!
If anyone can clarify what this actually means? Cos I don't fully understand it?
Flex will now be a business, not actually a free station to express its message?
What is the regulations on copyright?
Do the DJs now effectively become Presenters?
It seems In todays world? A celebrity that can push play on the decks is the way forward?

"Rinse" has, but it's a money pit. Nobody on that station gets even their expenses - they do it just to get to "broadcast". The local Council plough money into Rinse (illegally) and it stumbles along with a couple of dozen listeners. I suppose it keeps a few undesirables off the street!
