Hello Necks! :)
I acquired some of these many years back!
MC1496P.png
They are MC1496P double balanced mixer ICs, The data sheet shows that they have many applications all quite vague to say the least!
Modulation and frequency doubling doesnt really interest me? But mixing does!
Im thinking I could make a very simple FM receiver from this by adding a local oscillator?
Am I just mad, or does anyone think this is possible??

You probably got them for stereo encoders, North Country Radio use them in the MPX96 for instance. As far as I remember you just need clock and filters to get them going and they are alright, clean and decent separation.
