I live in Crewe and I'm interested in knowing whether there is any pirates in Cheshire, old and new. The Cheshire area seems to be neglected as a subject matter on this forum, so I thought it might be a good idea to put Cheshire on the map.
I've lived hear for many years and in the past have heard the likes of Veronica VHF sadly deceased, Skyline FM on 87.7mhz, Cheshire Alternative Radio 87.5mhz and Radio Overdrive 100.8mhz. Would be curious to know of anymore or any future stations thinking of starting up.
The floor is yours. :tup

Carousel obviously Cheshire, also was 100.8 but not been heard since summer except for online. Heard in Cheshire oaks and Wigan (not sure how far south, but when it was on 106 back in the mid I 90s it covered a wider area).

That's a shame that you are now unable to hear Overdrive on 100.8 now as Base fm is using the same frequency. Maybe one of them might change frequency. Then you'll be able to hear both of them

Not heard Carousel. Hopefully they will return and I'll be able to listen to them as well as Overdrive. Thank you. Your information has been most useful.

Yes, worth keeping an eye on this. I'll make it known on here once they've completed the change

Overdrive update
Low power test from Radio Overdrive can be heard every evening from 5pm till 7pm on 101.4mhz.
Overdrive have announced today that it has ceased transmissions altogether on 100.8mhz from today. They say normal service will be back for its day time listeners on Sunday October 29th from 12 noon till 4pm close as usual. They said, the frequency change gives both Base and Overdrive a better signal reach allowing Base to expand its signal into Cheshire, whilst it can recapture it's listenership in North Manchester and South Liverpool. Just common sense.
