Is it possible to make a driver board from 0201 components? I have a silly idea in my head to create the tiniest 1w working driver board. Would everything be too close to each other ?

0201 is incredibly tiny, the components would be 0.254mm x 0.508mm in size! You better ask Santa for a microscope lol

Also it appears that the resistors only have a rating of 1/20 of a watt of power handling. I'd imagine half of them would smoke when it was turned on.

You would be better off with 1206 and 0805, these are easier to work with and have comparable power handling to through hole components.

Yeh true it’s a stupid idea. Just wanted to see what people would say about it.

There are a couple of commercial transmitter boards that use 0201 parts in some stages, but most use bigger SM or even through-hole parts just like they always did!
