Re: Vision Interference
So you mistook your aerial tower in your back garden for your bench dummy load? Easy mistake to make I suppose.

Re: Vision Interference
Roobru.. I read a while back about Albert H using j poles.. They don't give much signal strength or something below the rig site so he would put dummy aerials up to confuse DTI as they couldn't get a proper fix on the signal.. So as you can imagine watching the dti go up blocks with broken lifts only to find out that the dipole on top was wood painted to look like a shiny aerial was funny as fuck..It's all very interesting stuff..Brilliant..

Ha ha, genius!
He should start a blog about his antics, I'm sure it would be very entertaining

Re: Vision Interference
I got really pissed off with a Ramadan "wailer" that was wildly overmod over this way last year, so I found their link frequency (Band 1 as usual) and fed BBC Radio 3 up their link from a little battery-powered transmitter with a wire aerial up a tree next to their site, with a cheap transistor radio providing the MPX. Apparently they complained to the BBC about the "interference", but at least they were shut up for a few days! I want and collected the gear when its battery died!
"Why is my rig humming?"
"Because it doesn't know the words!"

Re: Vision Interference
Interface was the first London pirate to use Internet radio, ran by a cool dude called MadAsh.
Originally Hart FM 90.4 (heart without an E) up until Heart FM 106.2 launched in 1995 and then changed name to Face FM 90.4. From the Battersea/Wandsworth area I believe.
They left the FM dial in 1997 to become London's 1st ever internet station 'Interface Radio'.
....But it's good you're not getting any interference on 88.4 past Reading with 88.5 BBCR2 blasting out the dial.

Very good tuner separation it's only a problem if it's the same frequency like classic wiping out house on 1003 but that's when im in Windsor no chance of picking up house fm in reading?

Re: Vision Interference
I could only listen at night because I lived out by Woking at the time and had to wait until the Radio 3 transmitter from Guildford switched off at night, but it used to come over solid once that monstrosity had tucked up to sleep around 12/1am.famefm wrote:I forgot to say I do rember Hart 904 and I didn't know that they became face fm
I think Hart would then switch off around 3 or 4am, you would hear the old electronic door bell sound come over the radio which Scott used to put in his rigs as a 'trip switch' alarm for the hatch or door, and moments later.....Hsssssssssssssssssssss. Off for the night.
....Anyway, back to Vision.
A few months back I could hear them faintly here at home but no trace of them any more which I do find strange because they've moved to a better place. Must just be the way the land lies.

Re: Vision Interference
Up till the early 90s the dial was totally empty between 90.2 to 94.9 were totally vacant when radio 3 and 4 switched off around 0045 am till about 5.30 am so any pirate broadcasting at that time would get out for miles?
