Looks more like a lightning rod/conductor.

Yes it does look like one but I'm certain it isn't. Here's from a different angle. You can't see the radials in this shot but it's the same antenna

Ok thanks, I thought it was but didn’t think it was actually possible to construct the antenna incorrectly but appears it is! I’ve only used a Sirio version and it’s impossible to connect it up the wrong way. It’s leaning over badly, the photo doesn’t do it any justice

Wong lol rf head
Guessing if you put the usually down angled ground planes the wong way up it fires it into the ground.. mmm warm tarmac
Messes the impedance match up anyhow
Maybe they were pissed when they put it up
Could of just used a garden clothes airer, that'll bang out

MPX
We used to have competitions to see who could load a rig into all sorts of ridiculous objects. A clothes airer was one of them (abysmal SWR - couldn't ever get a match!).
The most successful "aerial" we tried was a steel-framed bridge, which loaded up beautifully on medium wave! We used it one Christmas (back in the 1970s) for about five days. The guys from the PTT turned up and couldn't work out where the aerial was.....

"Why is my rig humming?"
"Because it doesn't know the words!"
