Concept on 100.8 today playing Christian teachings? Thought it was an in-car on an odd frequency but its Concept RDS. Not very spooky it must be said.
In less good news I think I blew my SDR when I was tx'ing over-power on the ham net

Didn't catch this at all - I sometimes check 100.8 but rarely on a weekday.
87.7 has been on occasionally recently, but less frequently than in the past (although I may just be missing it, of course).
Apart from that (and that thing on 108) there's nowt else going on around here that I've caught.

I caught something new on 87.7 on Friday. It certainly wasn't Radio Waves - the signal was nothing like it, much weaker around here than Waves.
They were playing a happy-hardcore mix (or fast vocal rave at any rate). There was no ID and the car had no RDS but when I tuned in at home on the Roberts the RDS "ELITEFM" was displaying. It was on early evening and I listened for as long as I could but had to switch off for a while. When I tuned back in later in the evening it had gone. One to listen out for!

It's been properly quiet over the Christmas period. Nothing heard on 87.7 at all and I've heard no relays of MAR, which seems to be pretty much online only these days, although they've got their usual Christmas and New Year programming going on.
All there's been is 100.8 last night, and this is the first time in quite a while that I've heard them. I didn't get to listen for long, so I'm not sure if they were IDing as Concept or Central. Good to hear them back on though!

Yeah no MAR to be seen. Last I saw from them was a (test?) transmission with low power on 105 months back.
Concept/Central have been on 100.8 once this week, and also Free Radio Liverpool has moved from 102.2 to 101.4, not sure why.

Didn't know FRL had moved. Not sure I can pick them up here to be honest, but I'll keep checking that just in case.

MAR are on 87.5 pretty regularly on sundays, not sure about xmas day as I didn't check but they've been on previous sundays. Coverage is patchy though, I only really get them in places along the south side of the mersey (runcorn -> wirral sort of way) and up in the north wales coast hills. Not a trace in liverpool proper until you get out toward speke.
Still not caught 100.8 or 101.4

FRL on 101.4 for NYE. Good reception around North Wirral.

I didn't catch it yesterday but I did hear a bit of a test transmission around midday today.
I used to love Sound FM, by the way

FRL currently playing on 87.5, odd time and odd frequency.
I notice as well they are using the branding from the Hits Radio network, i.e. The Biggest Hits/Biggest Throwbacks

Ok, so 108 mentions merseyside, so looks like this is yet another clone ilr of ghr , still too damn loud tho, it bends my meter right to its last led, even worse than signal1. It stops me picking up 107.9 now (not that its any great loss)
Also its kinda off topic, except for the fact we wont be picking up anymore pirate on 108 in merseyside now. I’m surprised this freq has been allocated - maybe i shouldnt be.
Also, i have a feeling 107.2 are running more power than usual.... clones clones clones

MAR on 87.5 today sounding like they're playing out a low bit rate stream. Picked up weakly along the m53 going past ellesmere port

Turns out 108 is an unintended sprog from its other frequency, thanks also to geeky confirming I’m not just going insane

Could be Concept firing up their tx for the usual Bank Holiday broadcast.

It was Overdrive relaying Caroline, they recently moved from 106.5MHz, the op tells me he's had a call from someone pretending to be Ofcom, no doubt Concept trying to put on the frighteners. It's not the first time Concept have got shirty about other stations using 100.8, there was a spat with MAR a few years back.

Sounds very petty, could equally backfire if they decide to actually report concept, so let’s hope everyone plays nice. Carousel also uses that freq from time to time but both tsa can’t really hear each other anyway, and it wasn’t on at all over Easter .
non of the Liverpool pirates get out very far these days, now in the mid 80s to mid 90s that was a different story. I wonder if that is the way they want it,,power is cheap these days but lower power potentially keeps them at lower risk (but always there are risks).
