I could just imagine that on dutch pirates. Let's face it some of the music is unusual sounding and not everyones fave maybe, but you
cannot deny it is different at least there is some kind of surprise and that is what surely pirate used the be. The whole point was it was out of the ordinary. And when someone bothers to make a big effort to come on the radio we have no business judging their taste if they like it good for them.

I also heard 1395 playing a Dutch oldie just before bed but not sure if it was pirate or not, may have been Dutch legal small TX. I will cross check the list Albert put up. It is first on the list as

Aalst GLD 1395kHz 100Watts

May have been them.

There is something on 1648, I hear audio every now and then, but only just.Must be a fair bit weaker than 1630. 1620 does well also similar to 1620 signals by ear alone as I only have a signal present LCD on my Sony :) radio which is a shame. Just on the ferrite rod again indoors. Getting all cosy again as the evenings draw in.

Not making it over very well on ferrit tonight. Very noisy I think there was some kind of solar eruption happening probably killing the signals a bit I have a very noisy 1630 playing oldies

All coming in quite well this evening. 1642 strongest and 1630 second strongest, was something 1665 coming in reasonably. 1656 there but weaker noisier on indoors transistor radio internal ferrite.

I re-attached the 20m long dipole which is just 2m above the ground so over winter I can plug the ham radio in again to listen and give the weaker stations a better chance and give actual S meter signal reports. I like to do that every now and then.

This Saturday evening 26th October I will be listening for MW pirates up the top end of the dial and also some SW 6200-6400 on a 20m long dipole on my fence and a ham radio. So warm up your valves / transistors ! I will give ID if I can and Signal reports of frequencies and any tracks I can identify.

Dipole set and Yaesu transceiver set to 1630 AM for now. Radio Caroline giving me S9 and a bit more solid. My 20m long dipole antenna (a 40m band antenna) is horizontal and very low so RX pattern will be more ball like and I am 30 - 45 degrees off axis from The Netherlands, but that will not usually be a problem.

All ready to listen for after dinner time I say I start something like 7pm European time UK 6pm. I shall see what I can hear. I will also check 6200-6400, the signals there can be huge +20dB over etc. I see we have had a big X class solar flare today so that may not help things but we will try anyway.

Noise floor for now is very low no signal registers because of horizontal polarization. Catch you later at or after sunset. Bedankt ! :wcome

At the moment I hear only 1636 extremely weak no signal. This does not bode well I hope things improve a bit. Just finishing my dinner
and will start listening a bit more attentively.

Nice set up EFR 48M vertical antenna, wow not messing about. And much better for all low angle signals. 20m long Dipole 2m above ground good for NVIS (great for 300Miles) but little else.

MW 1600-1700 dead here.

3975 coming in S5-S7 but mostly unlistenable fading hiss coming in and out at the moment. (Not sure of their whereabouts) Sounded possible from England given the UK accent on the jingle.

I have something on 6,285kHz S7 (edit can hear classic rock music) but the noise level is horrendous can barely hear the music.

I gave it a try. Maybe better luck next time. I have heard stonger signals indoors on a Sony portable SW with ferrite rod internal antenna. THat's radio for you,
