I don't think any of the long standing black community station's had started that early the only one I know of then was JBC and possibly DBC may have still been on sometimes?

It was they were on just a few months before RJR and used 90.2 from the summer of 86

The oldest continues community station has to be station fm although they didn't start till 1991 they are the longest running station that hasn't had any break

Lightning? - I'm sure that was up & running way before Station started up on 101.5.... don't really recall it being off for long periods either... I thought they came on around the time of Powerjam 92.... now what ever happened to THAT!!!....... someone must know???

Your right lightning was January 1989 but as I said before they have a break and they had 3 years off from about 1997 till about 2000?

I want not sure when power jam closed but I forgot vivbes fm might be older than station becouse I think they started in 1990 I don't know anything thing about cyndicu

lightening was on in south London .....jumping jack frost n brian g was on there way back when....rok 2 rok was always south as my friend at school his uncle was involved....

Brian g was on lightnings predecessor passion 90.6 from Brixton as well (the first station ) with the passion name

Only a few shows Brian started as a soul dj but jumping jack frost who started on lightning was always a rave dj
