I am tempted to put a wire joining one of the 4.97V points to a 2.46V one

C3 to the
VCC end of
R5
And it worked
4.97V at all
VCC points

Working fine - Heatsink is roasting
Biut........ Now for some reason the Reflected Power is not reading on the Display

Glad you got the screen working again. Maybe ref power is another bad trace?
Looks like some corrosion in some of those pics specially on the nuts that hold the board in. Not surprised if you keep running into problems like that. Guess the salty Mediterranean airs not so good for electronics

From first inspection it looks like it's the
Directional Coupler

It was a transmitter was originally from a Pirate station in Ireland
Plenty of corrosion in the case when I first got it

to remove hot glue a bent piece placed of #8 wire heated up to just melt the glue and on one end then when cold open like a can of sardines

I have determined the Error was not on the Board covered in the Glue Gun Gunk
