Got a feeling I bought off same guy, boards look different though and mine being blue, but was told in the sale that some components would have to be bought separately which was a bit shit. Will have to post. By the way gave Brian a listen using the dxforum, quite clever the automated joke telling and intros. If only the UK radio rules were a bit like what you have over there in the canarys.

Cheers Brian I bought it some years ago, and started fitting components, but bottled it as just did not have sufficient equipment to test it.

Here's the board i bought, still have all the components bar a few resistors. I made all the coils and thats where i stopped. That was 3 years ago.

When I asked for the Schematic Diagram they sent an exact copy of the ''NRG Pro4 PLL 1-4w Exciter''.
Apart from the ''15W amplifier final stage & LPF'' which is just a box.

I'm getting some bad harmonics so I'm taking another look at the board.

One thing I noticed L3 Hole Centers are totally different.

Asking all the NRG experts...... is this a good thing or a bad thing ?

Probably best to measure between the outermost turns of wire rather than between the solder joints. Otherwise you're not getting a realistic number when the coils mounted on an angle like that

Are they both the same diameter? If you've got a decent set of drill bits, easiest way to measure is to see what the biggest bit is you can fit inside the coil

Hand wound coils are never exact anyway, that's why you've got to bend them a bit when tuning up
