I vaguely recall a video of a one off or final transmission at sunset using a Stephen moss rig, running direct with 5/8 wave on a pole with the station jocks playing rave music. On the Wrekin which is near Telford so my memory may be correct but I cannot find the video anywhere. It had an excited buzz about it. That would be a good video to find again.
I could be mistaken it was years ago I saw it. Seemed like a big successful station up there.

It was most probably an exact copy of one which they'd built themselves.

It was a legit Stephen Moss rig. Dimension was exclusively NRG TX Kit, Aerials and Links until the end of 2001.
After the "direct from the hill" days, Dimension used a Band 3 link to a site on the Wrekin, which had an NRG 100w set up, plus a 5/8.
Due to the Foot and Mouth outbreak in 2001, the TX location was effectively a no-go area. The kit was left up permanently and had remote switching. I *think* the TX site wasn't raided from the start of 2001 until the end of October. It was a while ago now!
This might be interesting:

OK fair enough you sound like you obviously know a lot more than I do about it,
.....I just remember seeing pictures on either Y2K Pirates or Radio Pirates forum of what looked like various different stages of them being built by them.

No Drama mate, but yes, I was there. When the raids resumed in 2001 costs needed to be reduced, and one of the options was to purchase NRG Clone stuff which was never built in house, but purchased from a builder in the West Midlands. At this time, Dimension also started buying 150's from Essex.
Side note - the high gains turned out to be a bad choice from the Wrekin. Got a beautiful signal on to the Wirral, but went straight over Telford. Having learnt that, the Wrekin was usualy a single dipole, and if Manor Heights was used, a 5/8th.
Long time ago now - time flies!

I would have been listening in, they remind me a bit of Premier FM in South Essex at about the same time a good a sounds quality and professional presentation trancy dancey. 2 stations separated at brith.

....That must've been what I saw then. I remember it quite well and also remember their infamous photo of the stack of rigs most of them the NRG style and one Martin Kelly Essex box.

Less separate than you might think! Tel and Tek from Premier were very helpful to "the farmers," up at Dimension. I definitely went out on the beer with Tek a few times.
I've a vague memory of a few Dimension DJs doing guest sets on Premier. Can't remember if they were live or on Minidisc though!

i heard Dimension FM in the 90's around the frequency of 92mhz, i didn't have a digital tuner back then but was quite clear into the Walkden area near Bolton, maybe it was on 92.2 but not sure.

Move to 92.2 was a few days before Christmas 2002, and that's where it stayed until the end in Spetember 2003. TX was always on the wrekin, but the power varied. Was usually 150w unless times were hard tho.
