They got out well but they were up high unlike me but I still got out nicely.TekMcr wrote:Back when Mixology was on 106 , they had a vertical on the side of a house for a bit lol.
....The 550m ASL Winter Hill car broadcast was the best though when you called up your mate near Birmingham and it was crystal. The 300m ASL Werneth Low car broadcast was also a banger. (that was only about 60-70watts).

It was 88.0MHz. I ran from Werneth Low and Winter Hill from the car with no more than 70w and you had it crisp!
There's an old station starting back up in Manchester next month. It's gonna be big from the word go!

Just had to rack my brains its been a while! Ha. I remember yeah, audio was crisp and didn't lose it. No rds in mono. I think I've worked out who you are seen as you've worked out who I am haha. Long-time mate.teckniqs wrote:It was 88.0MHz. I ran from Werneth Low and Winter Hill from the car with no more than 70w and you had it crisp!

Re: Love NRG, he was just testing and he's switched it off now. Next time it comes on it should be banging out Manchester wide and surrounding areas.

Haha, I think I know exactly what you're on about and I've shook my head many times! ...We all know what happened to him last time and don't want to be hearing about 'chapter 2'!

Heard them again before on my way home in the car. Rds locked for about 30secs 'LoveNRG' then went and didn't come back before I was home. Still testing maybe. Audio was a good level.

Try around 9ish. You'll get it in Stockport no problem.

From what I understand this will be more Soul and Reggae like Blitz was rather than the Jungle/DnB which I think was more what Love NRG was about in their day. But hopefully they won't just stick to the same old stuff as Manchester is crying out for an Underground station. Community station Unity 92.8 just doesn't cut it any more since going legal.

That website looks strangely familiar.
Not sure I agree about Unity. I listened to it religiously as a legal for a few months and ok, it's slightly more samey overall than it was as a pirate, but that's a result of some of its original audience having gone to other legal community stations (e.g. Legacy) and having to tweak the demographic to factor this in and support other terms of the license and ultimately give them a chance of making a crust. Still has that pirate sound about it though, which I really like. When Unity ceased to cut it for me was when Samsung stopped putting FM radios in their phones... I therefore no longer listen to them on the bus on the way to and from work - I just listen to endless prog rock mp3s
I think Unity are on the experimental DAB MUX in town for which, fair play to them.

Re: Any pirates in Greater Manchester area?
LoveNRG still on from weekend this morning. I think this is the first time I've heard a pirate on air through the week in all my years . Audio is a bit low but no major issues. Good work
