RE: That Crystal Palace diary I think there may have been low powered UHF tests on various channels a few years prior to the official start of BBC2 tests in 1964.

There was also a second band 1 channel used for NTSC colour tests but this wasn't widely advertised.

Still on according to the latest London bandscan update on this site. I'm no longer in London, so can't confirm. But I feel in later years, they seemed to lower output, maybe to just plod along with the local community rather than trying to blast out everywhere. Or it may just seem that way due to dial congestion.

Was probably just coming from a lower site, it's hard out there these days lots of the bigger towers around their kind of area getting locked off and can't get up them. :rip
....But I did hear them with a strong signal bangng nicely across London a couple of years ago

We have both already spoken all about this earler in the thread. We're like a stuck record .....like a stuck record

If Station started in 1991 and Surpreme started in 1988 but Station isn't on FM air and Surpreme is?
We'll stick to our original winner!

Supreme had a whole 9 years off it closed new years eve 1990 and kiethley who was a dj on Supreme started station a few days later and was on an excellent and totally empty frequency of 101.5 before classic fm started but was only on it a few months and the next longest station has to be lightning who started in early 1989 but had a 3 year break from around 1996 till 99 and if they hadn't they would get the prize can't give it to Supreme with a 9 year break and when Supreme did return they called themselves millennium Supreme for a while

I am going to request for this thread to be closed.
....Now we're just going round and around in circles and it's making me very dizzy.
