Unity has taken a big turn to consistently playing house music but like shuffy says, as being a legal now they need to fufil needs of the mainstream and that's what's "cool" with the majority now. I've played a few guest mixes on unity on one of the drum&bass shows. I guess they have to meet certain demands .

Not sure I agree about Unity. I listened to it religiously as a legal for a few months and ok, it's slightly more samey overall than it was as a pirate, but that's a result of some of its original audience having gone to other legal community stations (e.g. Legacy) and having to tweak the demographic to factor this in and support other terms of the license and ultimately give them a chance of making a crust. Still has that pirate sound about it though, which I really like. When Unity ceased to cut it for me was when Samsung stopped putting FM radios in their phones... I therefore no longer listen to them on the bus on the way to and from work - I just listen to endless prog rock mp3s

I think Unity are on the experimental DAB MUX in town for which, fair play to them.
Actually Samsung still do put fm radio's in their phone's got an Galaxy a3 few weeks ago with Fm 8-) I'd hate to get a phone without Fm radio

Should just get one of the handy little Tecsun radios with dB meters. They are much more sensitive than phones.

Must just be the S6 then - it was almost the reason not to get one, but there were too many other compelling factors. Suppose I could always listen online.

The S5 is also lacking a FM Radio, so I guess it's just the low end Samsung phones that incorporate them.

Was just listening to 100.7 and getting it loud and proud at my Mrs place in Ashton Under Lyne.

Tried to catch the mobile # given out, but I missed it due to my Baby crying.

Cool DJ and loved the DnB part at around 10PM.

keep up the good work Eclipse.

Over modulating badly today, unfortunately. Still some decent tunes being played though.

Will listen again tonight for the mobile # and give a report as I'm travelling a bit further away tonight.

I was told they aren't live until April, first they have some 'live launch' planned for Valentines day, next when I mention a few well know Manchester DnB heads (one who was on the original Love NRG) they say no DJ's on until April but now I hear there's a live DJ.

Not sure if the power has been reduced, but the signal into Ashton was weak last night compared to the other night.

Eclipse, what's the intended coverage area?

Could be the bad weather having an effect maybe, noticed it does get choppy as I drive around certain areas but solid with rds in others and higher ground of course.

Looking forward to hearing a live schedule when it comes.

In South Manchester It's actually improved slightly for me now. My receiver is not resolving any RDS though and there's no stereo, which I'm assuming is intentional.

Not listened to this for a while but decided to tune in a couple of nights ago when I was at my Mrs's house on high ground near Ashton U Lyne.

Anyone else think it's gone well & truly downhill?

The mixing was terrible the other night, I mean really bad, and the signal coverage has also deteriorated significantly compared to at first.

I get the strong impression that the owner doesn't really give two stuffs and just wants to be 'on air' for egotistical reasons.

Can't speak for the mixing but yes, the audio quality could have been better this weekend. With set ups of this sort it's really difficult to keep control of the levels. All studios need proper limiting and you need compression/limiting at the TX too. Signal strength has most likely changed at your location following TX move.
