Re: Raw 87.5
Any one local to long (20 miles of less that can't get them must have poor radio sets ) because 875 is the clearest channel on the whole dial

Snooper is a sat-nav audio transmitter for trucks, tuned to 87.5.

Re: Raw 87.5
I'm pretty sure the the same people running raw today were the uk finest /trilogy before that and have been around since the late 90s and the first name for the station was rinse, nothing to do with the original rinse so for a while there 2 pirate station's using the same name?

Yes they weren't the same Rinse. They originally came on as Rinse FM around 1998 on 87.9FM, think they changed it to Trilogy some time after that probably around 1999.

Re: Raw 87.5
UKS FINEST had arguablely one of the best signals on the fm dial at its time . I remember hosting a set getting calls from Milton Keynes .Birmingham. Daventry and Swindon all in 1 show thats quite a few counties it covered although i seem to remember loosing it as i got on the M3 at bracknell London bound . That was around 07 08

Re: Raw 87.5
UKs Finest used to come in on big hills near Bristol with a good sensitive receiver. I never heard it at home, I didn't have a loft aerial back then though. With Raw, it comes in at home when there is a bit of lift on (when their signal is at it's best).

Re: Raw 87.5
UK's Finest used a huge hill over in Oxfordshire, they were up there for a good few years (guessing 2004-2011??) and around 2006/2007 time I remember them smashing out all over with a massive signal!!
I was picking them up all over the south east and south west of England, I was living out in a small west country town called Westbury in Wiltshire and I remember going up the massive hill with the huge White Horse on the side and it locked on with full RDS etc.
..Didn't think for one minute I'd pick it up when back at home but stuck a band 2 mag mount antenna on a roses tin up the loft into the back of my Yamaha FM receiver and there is was SOLID!
Hadn't even thought to try it before as couldn't even pick up Kiss (London) around there so thought no point!
Found the signal was absolutely solid in Andover, Portsmouth, Southampton, Salisbury, Winchester with RDS.
This was around the summer time 2006 when I'd say their signal was at it's all time best.

Re: Raw 87.5
I just realised - It was a guy who used to write for one of the pirate fanzines in the 80s that told me they'd heard UKs Finest on a hill somewhere. It was later on when I heard it myself, but it had changed name then. This would be around April / May 2012. Some name like Sub Zero FM.bristolpirates wrote:UKs Finest used to come in on big hills near Bristol with a good sensitive receiver. Re: Raw 87.5
Picking it up weak again in Worthing, running a bit more power again but still from a low site.
Re: Raw 87.5
Yes I been getting them a bit better than usual the last few days, signal is still weak but its reading as a proper measurement which it usually doesn't on my Sony tuner. Signal is 17-21dB and very listenable.
Most of the stations from the west dont seem to come to my end too well in general, think the raised ground around crystal palace/honor oak etc blocks them out...

Re: Raw 87.5
I still can't understand why people are amazed that the 87.5 signal gets out so far as there may be no other station in the country using 875 it's possible to get even 200 miles out if you get high enough it's not that big a deal because no other dial could get close to being that clear not even 95.8 100 or even 106.2 so that means even further out from London than 1062 heart because 1062 would be in use again by a station in the distance anyway hats off to the raw management can't believe they have lasted so long on that dial

Re: Raw 87.5
What a shame raw was doing so well now there getting nowhere solid at all apart from 1 mile from the tx site. Audios gone rubbish again too not sure whats happened need to do a revamp. You can use 50w and get out better then that on 87.5 so i think its proberly there ariel thats not working.
