Anyone used flat panel antennas before ? I need to link around half a mile a away to provide a PC with wifi connection. I can't use a microwave horn because there are lots of trees in the way. Would this link be able to push through the trees ?
With all the other Wifi signals all on the same frequencies I don't think this would work very well if at all.

I agree with techniqs you could have problems with 2.4ghz in buit up urban areas, i've used the 5.8ghz units a few years back with good results from the centre of town to rural transmitter site 3 miles away but there wasn't really anything in the way.
Reminds me of this guy linking using a pair of cheap 5.8ghz senders. He also linked S/PDIF.
He joined the old forum to chat about it as well.

Ive used 2.4ghz modules many times and they are a nightmare!!
Allsorts of interference even at short distances!!
Not only from wifi! but cordless phones, baby monitors and microwave ovens lol
