That 108.0 thing is Devastation. Mate of mine was picking them up strong in Crawley about an hour ago. Silent carrier with scrolling RDS.

According to their Facebook page their broadcast area is well out of London (Surrey, Sussex & Kent).

Didn't get any RDS on the station on 108 (and it was pretty strong), and was playing house at 7am, so not a silent carrier. Still could have been Devastation, but having heard them before, it didn't sound like them. Still a bit of a mystery. I'll be over that way again next week so will take a listen then.

Was getting 108 in Woolwich last night playing happy hardcore but also had a silent carrier cutting in when the aerial faced the other way , this could of been the area I was in as it was industrial so maybe machinery affecting

, but the station playing happy hardcore had no RDS and wasn't a very strong signal

There are a lot of 'iTrip' type devices on 108 MHz, so the silent carrier was probably one of those. You might find it starts reading a book or something, when the person starts to use it!

The station on 108 that was there a week or so ago had gone. The Turkish station on 90.6 was still there but again too weak for an ident - maybe someone closer to London could take a listen. Also there was a station on 92.0 which was too week to ID. The "weird wireless of the week award" goes to Citylock who had no audio, just a beep every 5 seconds or thereabouts.

Interestingly community station The Beat on 103.6 had no audio, and Kane on 103.7 were suffering audio drop outs too.

Seems like the unidentified Turkish station on 90.6 I've heard a couple of times is Radyo Anadolu, so that's one mystery solved. And 92.0 was probably Nu Sound, so that one's not a pirate.

Unless some of those stations are RSL's.. that's a pretty good log of pirates! and people say the FM is dead in London?

Anyone know what the silent carrier is on 104.7? I thought Kream FM called it a day a few months ago.

Anyone know much about station popped up on 106fm called High Vol ?
Also who is on 94.6fm?. Is it definitely Kool still ?- Seems unlikely as I'm hearing they have April DAB launch!
Also 102.4 Wax going strong with good signal in South London

Portuguese language station
At first I thought it was atmospherics but a quick Google brings up the Tuganet Facebook page saying they are based in London.
I thought I also heard Rude FM underneath, but can't be 100% sure, the reception was a mess whilst on the move

Is USD still on 92.4? I think this unlikely considering Rainbow are on 92.4 from the Crystal Palace mast.

Is Surprise still on 96.4? Bearing in mind that Maritime in Greenwich is 100 MHz away on 96.5.

Is SLR still on 97.7? Bearing in mind that Croydon FM is 100 MHz away on 97.8 from the Croydon mast.

Is Umut still on 102.8? Bearing in mind that there is now a long term RSL on 102.8: Tate Britain, broadcasting from Tate Britain on Millbank, SW1. This LRSL station has been licenced until 11th March 2024.

4Tune are on 103.8 these days, loud and clear here in Bermondsey SE1, they are no longer on 97.6. Is Buzz still on 103.8 or have they gone?

Up on the roof of my house and after a few scans (and cans) of the band, dance music pirates are alive and well. What most lack though is quality programming. IMO pirates mostly appeal to older generations, older listeners might want a bit more than just shouts and rewinds. I would say that a lot of stations have moved beyond that still there are some with very shouty hosting. Must big up all the stations that keep going, 30 years some of them. That is dedication to the cause
