Seems to be a blank carrier on this freq for the last couple of days. Any ideas? The last station I can think that used it was exposed beats (when they first come on last summer).

Maybe they've moved back to it with that African thing on 106 now?

:geek: 107.6MHz is NOT a good frequency - especially towards the West and South of London. Jackie (107.8MHz from Tolworth Tower) are the first to complain to OFCOM when they get a hint of adjacent interference!

There's also the problem of "Time" on 107.5MHz in east London. They're a low-power legal and are also well known for complaints to OFCOM.

You can expect the 107.6MHz to last a matter of hours if it's the slightest bit audible in Jackie or Time territory. They might get away with it if they moved down 50kHz to 107.55MHz and used a really good limiter / clipper to make sure that they don't over-deviate, but the chances wouldn't be good. :ugeek:

Just had a listen, wouldn't say Jackie should have a problem as the Power seems alot more on 107.8fm and as for Time they are designated to Romford for them to complain is a bit out of there radius.

Probably switched off when they realised that it wouldn't last very long at all.

There's something overmodulated in East London today on 97.1Mhz, and a weak effort on 97.5MHz so LBC are sandwiched! LBC are certain to complain to OFCOM and these things will get removed.

It seems to be Exposed Beats, just had a listen to the stream, playing some monotonous techno so hard to match but does appear to be the same.

Quite a lot of noise on this dial freq, lots of hiss on the audio.

Not 1076 again maybe an even worse frequency than 97.1 and definitely worse than 106 so if it is exposed beats why would they use it again?

Comes from an Office block in the centre of Romford.
I remember when it first launched around 97 or so as Active FM with 100w, it's around 350w now though so it should have a reasonable coverage.

The current "Time" rig is a 400Watt job. The antenna has also had some improvements and it now transmits "mixed" polarisation, which seems to give better coverage amongst tall buildings.

So time is more powerful than the former choice 96.9 and 107.1 which at one time was under 50 watts? I'm suprised time is that powerful I would have thought 400 watts would reach west of London? but I can't get it?

From my old memory 96.9 was 35w vertical and 15w horizontal, and 107.1 always 100w vertical.

.....The Greek 103.3 one is 50w though from the 107.1 site.
