Was good to see 101.7 had Flight back on couple weeks ago around sw ldn and Surrey but then off again and now I'm not getting them.
Dunno why these guys can't stay consistent, good drum n bass mob on there but can't stay on??

Could be a number of reasons mate, from council hitting them hard around the area every time they set up, to thieves, to the choice of dial (I don't know what its like over that side of London) list goes on, to stay on and be consistent is so hard need to get a number of things right and exact otherwise things like coming on ends up lasting it matter of days when they should last months even longer before any real problems.

Heard that they are always complaining meaning they get hit and it's been passed on to the Flight management but they don't seem to care so this is going to keep on happening.

Flight has always have a strong couple of years, then it seems the people who run flight can't be ased for 6 months or a years.... then Flight comes back strong for another solid year.

That Asian station on the RSL in Slough shouldn't be bothering Flight really, that Asian Star should only be Slough and touching West London, but we all know RSL love to push more power then they are meant to.

What I have been told is that Flight are having issue from the same rig thieves not DTI/Of Com. Though they did have to move TX site due to the council doing roof maintenance. So I guess they have been bouncing from block to block.

As I said in my other post about Pirate Down Turn, if the guys who own/run Flight don't have back from other dj's to help set up, I can see after 15/20 years of setting up on your own, it can take the piss that no one else jumps in to help set up.

You hit the nail on the head Asian star is only ment to be able to be about an 8 mile radius around slouch but like to think big so start to think they own the 101.6 frequency half way across West London? London they are lucky to get as far as they do because they could have been made to have far lower power like an Asian station in reading on 95.6 that can only be heard around a 4 miles range and it's not a rsl it's a permanent station

I Never really picked up flight when it came back to the dial on 1017, i used to get it years ago when it was on 101.5, i always remember the rds saying something like "rip tnt" it always used to be a good station, im sure i got a couple of recordings on tdk somewhere

Had a couple of friends on Flight, when they were on 101.5 they used to boom out. Could get Flight most of the m25 from the Tunnel round to Heathrow. Have had some good talent on and passed on Flight.

When flight was on the first time round it was clearer because there weren't any local stations on air at the time on nearby frequency only classic was on nearby

No idea if their coming back on, my mates who were on their have moved on to other stations or have family's so radio had to be given up.

I have no news apart from 1017 being a no no in West London due to complaints from Sloughs Asian star so I don't know? If they do plan to come back they would do well to change the frequency first? I nearly forgot for those who don't know Asian star is 101.6

Shame because it means they won't ever last until they either use another frequency or lower power/directional aerials so they don't keep causing them this interference.

Well these days Asian star likes to think they are a lot bigger than they really are? especially as now they are the only station for Slough and surrounding areas looking towards Hounslow /Southall as well and without 1066 time radio anymore they think they are the kiddie in this area?

You probably remember they used to be half of 106.6 Star FM before it changed to Time FM, I'm quite sure from reading your other posts that you will also remember Star FM was originally on 101.6 in the early 1990s before they changed to 106.6, some time later there became a regular show on Star 106.6 called Asian Star, long before they got their CR licence.

Yes I think the Asian programmes where from 8 pm till morning and yes star fm where given 101.6 until 1995 when the last fm sub band opened up between 105 to 108 and they wanted to move because at certain times of the year with the low power they were on at the time they sometimes had classic fm for the West Country cutting in so the were given 1066 in June 1995
