That's not cheap! E149 for just 4 Watts? It's in a pretty box, and someone's written software for it, but it's really not rocket surgery. I built a couple of little shortwave things recently, based around those $4 DDS modules from China. They did 20 Watts carrier, 90 Watts peak and were frequency agile between 3.8 MHz and 8.5 MHz in 10 kHz steps. They were about the size of a shoebox, and the whole top surface was heatsink. They sounded pretty good on the air, would match into almost anything, had all the protection you'd expect and would run on any mains supply from 80 - 270V. They were worth £550 each to the buyer - they were done as a favour.
