quartz crystal

is there a right or wrong way of soldering a quartz crystal..this is abit new to me useing crystals anyone can get back that be great..

Try not to get them too hot - solder them quickly. Also be careful that you don't get a short between the body of the crystal and plated-through holes on the PCB. We always have very thin plastic washers between the crystal body and the PCB (I've seen people use bits of Sellotape!)

ok so soldering the crystal can be solderd anyway no positive no negative..thanks for the reply..

Nope - you can solder it either way 'round.

i was going to throw them ,but when i read this i stopped ,useless xtal values to me ,but the gelatine washers are good,i was putting i thin piece of pcb under the xtal before ,now i changed my idea ,but no more projects to be done .
