Re: ofcom?
pretty much this - but with different aerials on the mast .. - http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/market ... on/above3/ looks like they got 2 aerials atop and some other units look like gunns/horns..

Re: ofcom?
That, my friend, is a mobile UHF mid-point link for Juice FM 107.2, I know the person who drives it.

Do you know the mid-point frequency per chance?teckniqs wrote:That, my friend, is a mobile UHF mid-point link for Juice FM 107.2, I know the person who drives it.

Re: ofcom?
The last time I saw definite ofcom there was 2 guys in an Astra van. No antennas on top but some DF stuff inside and one guy had a handheld spectrum analyser. (they did not find the source of transmission)

Re: ofcom?
I haven't got a clue but I'd guess around about 470MHz, shouldn't be too hard to find on a scanner though if you're close enough by.

Re: ofcom?
That antenna looks like a 400 MHz to 4 GHz log periodic, after looking at it a few times. The coax is way too thick for anything above about 1.2 GHz so about 470 MHz is probably correct.

Re: ofcom?
A cheap scanner with 'close call' would latch on to the Tx frequency in a second, so if anyone with a Uniden scanner sees it around please turn close call on and post the frequency.
One of those chinese frequency sniffers with a stubby stock antenna would also find it as soon as the keyed.

LMR400 is very thick and works very well at even 5GHz. Also it could be 1/2 inch semi-rigid...thewisepranker wrote:That antenna looks like a 400 MHz to 4 GHz log periodic, after looking at it a few times. Re: ofcom?
You wouldn't use semi-rigid on an extendable mast.
The problem with thick coax at high frequency tends to be the connector you put on the end.

Re: ofcom?
Yeah spoke to the dude I mentioned earlier and he said it wasn't him although his Land Rover with electric extendible mast is very similar.
