I do wonder myself how it has kept going on fm, there are not that many stations that play classical, on fm there is Radio 3 and Classic fm, it was compleatly ignored by commercial radio stations. :? On dab there is Magic Classical aswell, I was going to count Scala too, Magic Classical is what used to be Scala, maybe they decided to give it a better name? scala sounds like something to do with david icke, something that you have problems with under your kitchen sink.

And this is before the BBC launches its more accessible, ad-free Radio 3 Unwind channel on Sounds in a couple of weeks.

I prey it gets re advertised one day, commercials and classical music don’t mix in my opinion (which isn’t worth much as i’m not a classical fan)

I was thinking more along the lines of a proper national dance station, not these uptempo pop iterations.

i’d often tune to radio 3 late on a night imagine how good it would be to have a dance station which would have a really good strong stereo signal, maybe we could of had kiss 101 instead of classic, the dance music only gets played on a night, did do on kiss 105/galaxy, by the look of it, during the day the djs just have to play what a boring blokes in board room want them to play, so having a dance music station on classic fm frequencies would of just gone down the same road. :tup unless they let me take over it, watergate heart of asia would sound good coming across everywere in full stereo

Think just about every station is suffering from declining listenership with the proliferation of stations on DAB+ fragmenting the market and the emergence of other ways to listen to music like Spotify and smart speakers.

IIRC Classic FM licence is specifically for a "Non-Pop" (whatever that means) service. Dunno if this restriction still applies in 2025 ?
