Marvellous, thank you. Takes me right back. 45 Watts of pure late 80s stereo nostalgia ('89 if memory serves).

Hiya reverend.. Glad you liked them and thank you for being involved in what i enjoyed listening to back then..I did alright getting the signal where i was in Darnall as it mustn't have had many obstacles but i had wires hanging off the ceiling to pick out signals. I've seen the location from the PM and yes i totally understand how high up it was. I recorded it on a Aiwa hi-fi which i bought early 89 and it recorded pretty well.. here's the location 'i hope' where i recorded it. https://maps.app.goo.gl/ATr7E9tfRgnWE2D9A?g_st=ac

Oh and i don't know why i put this on the Irish forum as i thought i was in the UK forum at the time. @reverend there is also a recording of Zfm at the bottom of the list on the Yorkshire archive..That was recorded from 100 FM too maybe the same weekend

I listened to them last night they were very good century 100, never heard of that did sound like a licenced station suprized I liked it all, funny banter too, few songs not heard in a really long time. I keep hearing a sample now again, I know it as been used in song wunderbr by silcon dream, I guess it might of been used some were else.
Alot of suff on these stations is what i’d listen to, still listen to it on a deep heat cd. Interesting you’d go from this stuff to the stuff you’d hear on fantasy later on, I suppose was more underground, you’d have all the record shops. Dance records for dance fm, others too, area 39 records, wonder if this song below was the transition.

I found the ZFM one too. Thanks for posting these. Just did the maths and you were roughly 6 miles away across the city so that's not bad for stereo.

From what i remember i don't think any of the Sheffield pirates were in stereo at that point in time so century was fascinating to me with the stereo signal.. Radio was still a mystery to me then as i was only 16 and i used to try and imagine how it was all done.. I remember seeing a coverage map of the century signal over Sheffield showing which areas were good for stereo and other areas where it was expected to be received in mono..Or it could have been zfm signal..Used to have a screen shot of it but can't find it now!

Yes, thought for a second it was a recording of shortlived (early 1990s) Irish commercial (not a pirate) national station Century Radio, which for a time called themselves "Century 100" (with American liners) , even though at the time some of the transmitters were nearer 102 than 100 (same 'sub-band' as Classic FM in the UK).
the first song on Century100FM-Extracts.mp3 really reminds me of A252
