100fm off now, but was running rds.

Getting something on 87.8fm now. No rds, playing house music.

I do wonder if it's just the people who own these online tuners sticking a small tx on, for something diffrent to tune into.

The guy who runs the Cheltenham online tuner sometimes relays other stations with a very low power tx.

Or8 everyone... I'm not picking anything up on 100 fm but was picking up a load of ruffling noise on 87.8 two days ago but thought it was me son and his new laptop and guitar amp messing the dial up a bit..Since then I've brought the stereo downstairs and don't pick up half as much on FM with the electronic haze down ere... Anyway, enough waffle...There was a Big Fm in Sheffield around late 90's run by Jake Jay of freedom, underground , unique fm's and probably a few more...
I swear i heard him a few years ago on a unique fm from the wakey area on 91.8 stereo...it was when passion uk 89.6 and Freq 90.4 were on.. quite a few years ago tbf! Could be him but could be wrong :tup

91.8 I think was Huddersfield.

I remember big fm Sheffield. Wasn’t it on around the same time as Joy FM. Also remember love 100 Huddersfield and loads of others!

This station on 100 in wakey seems to be on again now.

91.8 was Unique FM Bradford, he was the last of us 3 to switch off for good when Frequency and Passion ceased the FM back in 2017.

Or8 frequent Lee... yes i remember now it was Bradford... I knew it was a city with a d in it
I doubted my fading memory and went we wakey...I remember an article in hudds examiner about passion getting turned over and noticed the aerial which looked endfed to me (an untrained eye) and thought of the one on here what was being discussed by people and sure one was you..
I read here that you helped fresh and i presume you helped passion too, only coz fresh, passion and frequency used to be banging signals where i am and the end fed aerial discussion... Sorry if I'm rambling :tup
Have you uploaded anymore tapes to pa yet?
Loving the dream ones, they sound bloody lovely :tup

Im loving this discussion. What are the tapes uploaded to pa? I’d like to listen.

Does anyone remember a station in hudds I can’t remember the name but it was mid 90s and played all sorts. I used to listen to a soul show and always request a song, they had an 01484 number which was odd as most pirates had a mobile number.

You may well have heard a soul show on Jive FM. The original Jive FM was on for most of 1990 and it came back with new management and some of the original DJs in 1992 and stuck around for most of that year. A guy called Easy Melody used to do a soul show on Jive and he had a great presentation style. Really laid back but professional at the same time. Curfew FM was around for longer, from summer 1990 until the mid 90s when it became Love 100 and then Vibez Urban in the 2000s (having been a relay of Vibes FM from London for a short time with some local programming). There was a good soul show on Curfew FM on Sunday evenings in the early-mid 90s, with two guys called Duke and Dugu Banton.

The station with the 0484 number (the extra 1 wasn't added until 1995) was almost certainly Unique FM though. Jive and Curfew always had mobile numbers. As far as I remember there wasn't a dedicated soul show on Unique, although there will have been a bit of soul here and there as they played quite a mix of music with some DJs switching between rave/dance, reggae, hip hop and soul all in the same show.

Unity FM definitely had an 01484 number - I used to ring it - but that would have been 1999-2000... not sure if they were around as far back as the early 90s.

I never really listened to Unity, so I don't remember that, but I was aware of them. I remember Unity on 106 and Underground on 108 earlier in the decade (or possibly the other way round) but for some reason I didn't listen to them much - there was a lot around to listen to at the time!

Unique from 1992-1995 definitely were using an 0484 number for periods of time.

I remember unity 108 fm in hudds. And the soul show I rang in I used to ask for the whispers record every week. Probably winded the DJ up but was a kid at the time haha
