This scheme for the 10 GHz audio link with the control transmitter is turned on by a 19 kHz pilot tone of the studio

Photo willing to pay.
I need a shorter printed circuit board for receiving , with sat can

This will only work if you are running in stereo, or generate 19khz tone, are you? sound like hassle to me

Another easy way which I used many times in past is to buy a cheap satellite finder meter, they are around £3 on ebay.. Break into the meter wire a transistor and relay the output for the needle. When signal is received from gunn it switches on relay. very simple to do, you simply need a 10k trimmer, bc547 and relay.

This also then adds a nice signal strength meter to your

Oh, that's a very good idea !
I even found such a device at home )
A possible scheme and photo of what you do

Hello Mr yellow!
Judging by the schematic? youve got some sort of signal generator coupled to the audio?
But im not sure what you are trying to achieve?? Its not stereo!!
I assume you are lookin for a remote to switch your rig on and off?
I dont know much about satcans? but surely there must be a simpler option? Eg a signal or lock detector on the satcan?

On the modulator schematic It's just an audible tone so you can tune in the gunn, once tuned you switch the tone off and pump ya jungle tunes through :D you can miss the tone part of the schematic out.
It's easy to generate a 19khz tone without stereo so the broadcast doesn't necessarily have to be stereo

It's just simply a circuit to detect 19khz and switch on a relay and the other circuit is just a modulated power supply

That would explain why some pirates in the past would light up the stereo light on receivers but not actually hear any stereo image.

As I recall, satcans of that type didn't have a signal level (RSSI) output. Some had a pair of digital outputs which can be used for frequency tracking. We tried for a while to come up with a simple, reliable circuit, usually using logic gates, to use these outputs to work out when a signal was present and use it to power up the rig. It wasn't completely successful.

Detecting the pilot tone will obviously only work if the station is always in stereo but has the advantage that you don't need to add anything special at the studio end, like subsonic tone generators or DTMF tones.

If I was going to go back to this sort of arrangement (I've long since abandoned 10GHz links) I would have the 567 decode a subsonic instead of 19KHz as the 567 circuit is sensitive to temperature changes affecting the frequency determining components. This effect will be less significant at lower frequencies however it will add extra complexity to the whole system and you will have to make sure all audio stages can pass your subsonic without attenuating it beyond the threshold of the tone decoder.

I have to turn on and off my transmitter remotely from the studio

Another way would be to wire up a cheap mobile phone and text it everytime you want to switch on and off.
