Looks like our friend Florence has upped his game.... (and even added an LPF!!)

I wonder if he's ever considered a box??

Fucking hell. Hahahahaha.

Also, this LPF which he finally put into design will not do much. COILS IN LPF MUST NOT "SEE" EACHOTHER!!!
Same problem has that Arreff guy!
By the way, 500w Elenos with redudant power supplies and RDS is 2000€ in the shop. This is way over price range...

I was going to say that about the coils pjeva, you beat me to it.

I'm also dubious about the thermal design or lack thereof.

Busted!! ...He switched it off when he checks the harmonics. You can clearly see the meter is no longer showing the RF power as he's doing it.

"As you can see, there is nothing"

Yes, nothing going in to your analyser!!

You're right.

Immediately afterwards, he shows puts the RF back on and the analyser isn't even connected to the coupled port on his Thruline meter. It's just sitting on the bench.

I've just researched the 4724-025 "sampler" element that he has got. It looks like it doesn't drive the meter.

It still stands that he hasn't got it connected.

I find that a bit wierd that the sampler slug would not drive the meter, I thought the purpose of them was to allow you to connect more equipment whilst monitoring the power of the source

It makes sense to me to have the meter disconnected as having it connected wouldn't give you an accurate reading on the spectrum analyser as the meter would also be coupled, thus dissipating power. This wouldn't matter if you were to put a frequency counter there, I suppose. You could calculate from the datasheet how much lower the measured coupled forward or reflected power is compared to the real value if the meter were driven but it gets a bit messy.

The forward and reflected power can be scaled directly from the coupled value read from the analyser.

I must say that there are Bird plugs for sampling RF signal which doesn't contain diode and resistor for reading voltage (power). But... It doesn't prove anything here.
I don't understand few things about this guy. First, if he engeneered this stuff, he obviously has knowledge. Beside that, when you take a look at the equipment, PCBs and components used, we can conclude that money is not an issue for him. And than again, he fails at stupid things like LPF layout, also coils in lpf should be silver wire at that power... He is very confusing guy...

This is why it's a radio master.
