I remember those Nightingale blocks being demolished. I knew people squatting in the lower levels of one block. There was a festival there one day and I distinctly remember looking up at one of the blocks and seeing the dipoles on scaffolding poking out of the windows of two top floor flats on two corners of the building. They were hanging out quite a long way and looked like they would topple out at any moment! Seeing that around then and knowing a few people involved with Rude through a couple of record shops and the underground squat party scene, was the thing that made pirate radio fascinating to me all them years back.
