One of ours
Real deal on Ebay! Item No. 302438762166
Remember - they're not enforcing medium wave (as long as you don't cause gross interference). Get on the air cheaply! 20 Watts carrier / 80 Watts peak will give you good daytime coverage if you have a reasonable aerial. If you go to the top end of the band, you can use a 20 ft scaffold pole with a capacity hat and a chicken mesh ground plane. If you have a high site, you could use a big sloper or an inverted-V. Remember - the closer your radiator is to ¼-wave, the better. Just take a look at designs for 160m amateur band aerials and scale them up a bit!

Apparently, OFCOM aren't really interested in medium wave. If you don't cause interference, you should be able to get away with it for a long time!

There's another one nearby slightly shorter for the upper freqs. Both quite close to where I live, we used to hear the radio on the phone lines back in the days of copper before fibre was installed, additionally anything that wasn't earthed properly also picked up interference from these towers - audio line cables etc..

Testing my AM rigs in the old days into the inverted-L aerial in my back garden used to cause the fluorescent tube in the kitchen to light up!
The Nordeney (Veronica's ship) used to have "parasitic" deck lights!

Legend has it that the Nordeney served as a power source elsewhere -During a time when the Mi Amigo had no power they had parasitic deck lights too - floro tubes illuminated by their mast, from the Veronica tx. Transformer with somewhat of an air gap!

Looks like you do an FM version as well?

Seems like the seller is offering a few variants of this TX in the same box.

It's a standard case from dB Elettronica that we've used for years. It's the cheapest 19" rack box (in quantity) that is reasonable quality. You can get them pre-punched with the holes you want if you're buying at least 20 pieces or if they already have the machines set up for another company. We used etched front panels, that put the lettering into relief and looked really good. Unfortunately, the company that did the etching doubled their prices, so we went back to slide-on legends and sprayed varnish.
I made the mistake of getting some boxes from China, pre-punched with the holes we needed. All the edges were sharp, none of the holes were either the right size or in the right places - despite giving them proper engineering drawings - and the painted finish looked like it had been done by hand by a chimp with a paintbrush! We threw most of them away!
Good quality cases have always been a problem. If you buy 19" boxes from RS, Farnell, or whoever, the prices are usually insane! I needed two 1U high boxes for a couple of Medium Wave audio processors in a hurry last week, and had to pay almost £200 delivered. When you add in the IEC power connectors, the XLR connectors for audio, and the front panel hardware, making small quantities of things like this just isn't economical any more.
