It says k19radio on top of your chip. Is it the mrf9180?.Just been sure as you have it covered with k19radio.rigmo wrote:MRF9180 170W tuned with network analyser input 1.5W
protection : lighting, SWR double, overheating doable.

1000% mrf9180
This is not cover! this is for temperature dissipation! copper is the best...
MRF9180 is very sensitive, to sensitive ( lighting, hi swr..) ! its cheep 10usd 170W new but for ragged mosfet you need to spend min 100usd...
for max output 170 175W board need to be tuned with network analyser...

How's it a silly question. You had it covered I could be thinking it's no a Mrf9180 can't see through that k19radio cover . So now you explained it. I'll take your word for it.rigmo wrote:pleas do nor ask silly questions..Electronically wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 9:57 am It says k19radio on top of your chip. Re: Thought I'd try one of these.....
Say rigmo, did you read how to get 200W from cheap 9180? No need to spend $100. for more rugged, brand name mosfet. Anyone can make any 9180 go 200 Watts just by adding a couple schottky diodes. They cost pennies. Also, this was tested at this power level for hours... for days! Read posts on this thread, one year ago. April, May 2019. Maybe newer, expensive name brand 9180's have this protection diode built into the case. I like cheap when you can push it safely to this level. Just need good heatsink, good LP filter.

Re: Thought I'd try one of these.....
I once thought I would try and see how much power I could squeeze out of a 9180. I increased the voltage upto about 50 volts, I got almost 200W output of it, then came the big flash (no loud bang) but the whole device did light up for a split second - then the power output went to zero!

I've seen some combine two of those amps and get about 350w out of them.

They made their own combiners, I've got the photo of it but I am no longer in contact with this person and unfortunately I haven't got their permission to put it up.

Re: Thought I'd try one of these.....
Yes sure tru... but I do not wont push over 170W its to sensitive and heating required bigger heatsink ..... I like he can last for ever practically, on lower temperature hi efficacy. ..Lubomir73 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 4:02 am Say rigmo, did you read how to get 200W from cheap 9180? if you push, You know lifetime...
I push mine mrf151G over 3??watt.. (short tests) any seance , no ? better use right coax LMRxxx at least.. 2bay or 4 bay dipoles to get REAL GAIN... alone power without antena sistem and coax is useless ...
I do not need write details u know... good luck with over loads... i do not use drugs on my toys

Re: Thought I'd try one of these.....
ITs easy to make.. with coax(75R) or coils.. need50 - 100R carbon LOAD..
You can find few calcuators,

I like your progressive attitude Rigmo but I think some people on this forum are reluctant to give up their intellectual property for good reason.rigmo wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 2:50 pmITs easy to make.. with coax(75R) or coils.. need50 - 100R carbon LOAD..
