Re: modified rdw
That looks like a lot of work to get 4 Watts at best.
I'd use the oscillator and buffer stages to drive a pair of BFG135 for about 500mW and then stick an RD15HVF on the end for 10 - 15 Watts out easily.

Re: modified rdw
This is not a RDVV
The RF part is a old $w design from me and the original design use normal PLL with 4059 etc
this was a project of a guy "martin"but never completed
He made a design using my RF stage and the PLL part of the RDVV

Teckniqs - where did you find that? It's very familiar! That reminds me a lot of a board in a box that came from a guy that I know very well.

Someone I used to be in contact with built it. I don't know where they got the design from and I'm no longer in contact with them to find out.

Re: modified rdw
That's a shame, because one of the guys that works for me used to supply little boxed exciters just like that. He had problems with the PLL in them, so I redesigned it for him, and even did a new PCB layout for him. We used some of the improved version of that exciter in some of the gear that we supplied in the late 80s, and early 90s.
