Re: UNITY DAB
The second you get out of Central London the Trial signal drops dead, won't be good for much imo.

Re: UNITY DAB
What frequency is it on I will try it on my nans DAB radio in the shed.
I have been trying to get Centreforce but I can't work out how to make her DAB radio go on 88.3.

Re: UNITY DAB
I think you need some sort of converter to get it down to 88.3
Unity is on 202.92MHz
Doesn't sound quite right on the jingles, maybe they should call it Unity 203

Unity is 88.4 I think it's ran by Mark Ruff Ryder.
...So yeah it's a bit close to Centreforce 88.3.

Re: UNITY DAB
If you mean the Trial London multiplex then it's on channel 9A aka 202.928MHz, but I rarely get good reception of this when I'm in the city except for central.Undercover Neckz wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 11:58 am What frequency is it on I will try it on my nans DAB radio in the shed.

Centreforce is on London 2 which is on channel 12A aka 223.936MHz. It's using DAB+ though so if the radio is quite old it probably doesn't support it.

It's on Trial London try scanning channel 9A manually, but apparently it has no audio stream yet so it might not show up. Like I've said before tho Trial London has crap coverage.sparkypaul wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:34 pm I have refreshed my DAB list multiple times and cannot get unity.

Re: UNITY DAB
Been told it's DAB+ so if your radio is just DAB it won't receive it. I have never and will never have any interest at all in DAB radio, but someone I know read this post and mentioned it to me.sparkypaul wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:34 pm I have refreshed my DAB list multiple times and cannot get unity.

Re: UNITY DAB
Nothing wrong with DAB mate.
Its a platform where you can get on easily (if you've got enough cash) and do your thing.
No restricted as much like getting an FM licence.
There's plenty of good stations playing exclusively house soul funk.
In fact a lot of ex pirates have chosen thatvroute

Re: UNITY DAB
Thats a different Unity, an old ex-pirate now licensed as a community station. Decent enough station. Theres also the muslim Unity in Birmingham on 93.5 for which I'd rather listen to my cat throwing upCulture FM wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 11:39 pmUnity is on 92.8 in Manchester and also on DAB, I can just about pick 92.8 up here in Rawtenstall.

Fair enough if you are into that sort of thing, they might be handing out these DAB licences like sweets at the moment but it will never appeal to myself.sparkypaul wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 7:50 am Nothing wrong with DAB mate.

My main concern is the signal being digital at a very widespread bandwidth meaning it needs a lot more power to achieve a decent signal and not to mention the fact it's up on Band III (220MHz) so again needs yet even more power for a decent signal.
....FM licences don't appeal to me either, but each to our own, and what ever doesn't float my boat. (Pirate for Life)
In fact one of my old pals is actually involved in running this Unity DAB thing, but it's on DAB so it's just not for me.

Re: UNITY DAB

Re: UNITY DAB
You should be able to get in Hammersmith.
Its not about how much power they've got.
Dab stations power is provided by others.
You have to pay a service provider to transmit your station for you.
All stations on the same central London trial platform will be at the same power. That one doesn't get out very fat by the way.
If you can get stations like rinse you'll be able to get unity.
You'll have to re scan on the day and they'll appear in the list
