Re: Eruption
I came across it Monday afternoon while scanning around in my van (don't know how long it had been on beforehand). Like I say it's weak over here in Romford but a friend of mine was also picking it up over in Lewisham, also very weak. Listening right now on my Sangean. Signal seems a little stronger. They are announcing as Eruption 101.3 not sure if it's matching stream, can't be bothered to check.

Re: Eruption
Picking this up quite clear in SE. Nice to hear them back, wondering what the deal is with the community station Nomad 92.2 from Hammersmith? Listed on frequency finder as 200W but it's not on the Ofcom TX sheet.. Good luck to Eruption, something different to listen to

Re: Eruption
Well that makes me wonder if this 92.2 is maybe not them then.
....I mean is a DAB licenced station really gonna be stupid enough to start broadcasting illegally on the FM band as well? No I didn't think so either, so maybe it's just someone else like an old member of the crew who didnt like the DAB idea playing old 101.3 tapes or something?!
I guess only time will tell.

Re: Eruption
And their current Twitter cover photo is a from a coverage plot of Brighton, assuming from the DAB TX.
Everyone is getting on the DAB wagon, I feel like I'm missing out.
Might have to fire up a box over xmas

Yeah I think there's some DAB Trial transmitters up on Sussex Heights the dirty great white tower block near Brighton seafront/city centre (That Platform B 105.5FM TX from)
....Probably gonna be on that.

Re: Eruption
Maybe, if it was old tapes it would probably sound a bit more busy, and with that classic tape warble soundteckniqs wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 12:21 am Well that makes me wonder if this 92.2 is maybe not them then.

Re: Eruption
That beast. Explains the radiation pattern. Have always thought about chucking something up there whenever I drove past it.
Good news, Brighton would benefit from some more variety, FM band is boring as hell down there

Re: Eruption
Yeah at just over 100 metres tall that should work pretty nicely but probably not for too long though even if you did actually manage to get something up there.

Re: Eruption
I'd like to think that most stations would be quite happy to have someone put them out on Fm. I've often been tempted to text in and say dyou fancy an FM signal?...what's the general consensus on this?
