I can't see why not. I can receive other London community stations, Westside on 89.6 and Flex FM 101.4, as well as a few London pirates.

Re: Select UK's new FM frequency??
Westside is a lot further west and there isn't a bbc radio 2 transmitter on 89.6 nearby unlike radio 4 on 94.4 in highwycombe and the same with flex who are also further west than select. I am not saying for sure I know select can be heard in Reading I would be amazed if I can be

Re: Select UK's new FM frequency??
Just heard a full ID from Select on 94.4! It's only possible using the Co-Channel Canceller feature in the latest versions of the SDR Sharp software used with a SDR. Without the canceller, only Radio 4 High Wycombe can be heard. The test transmission is not in parallel to the webstream.famefm wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 11:44 am Westside is a lot further west and there isn't a bbc radio 2 transmitter on 89.6 nearby unlike radio 4 on 94.4 in highwycombe and the same with flex who are also further west than select. Also the fm at the moment is only the test signal and not actually launched yet I am sure when it officially launches it will be the same service as the online version on now

I'm in Tilehurst, on a hill. Just a half wave dipole on the chimney with an Airspy Mini SDR hooked up to the computer. 4tune, Vision, Mega, Slam, Divine (when they are on) and Unique are regular pirates on this set up.famefm wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 10:44 pm I see i forgot to think you had a special setup with high quality equipment i used to live in Reading in the 1980s and I picked up crystal Palace pirates in those days but only on high ground and a decent beam on my roof some of Reading is high where abouts in Reading are you tuneing in?

Can you do a band scan from Tilehurst or is what you put down the total number of stations already?

You can’t get Select in Berkshire whatsoever, pure BBC, however, as soon as you start crossing over the Berkshire/Surrey border, it starts chopping in!

Re: Select UK's new FM frequency??
Yes no doubt you’d be able to get it with some high end kit, separating the 2 signals plus they’d be coming from opposing directions so it would be easy to move or rotate the receive aerial to mask one out.
It does get strong very quickly though as you progress into Surrey.
