There are a few about, but it won't be cheap if you want anything with a bit of reliability.
"Why is my rig humming?"
"Because it doesn't know the words!"

When you consider that the output transistor (FET) and filter capacitors won't give you much change out of £100, then add on a power supply (has to be a good one) so you're looking at a further £80, and your £500 is looking unrealistic.

I saw a British-built FET rig a while ago that was beautifully and efficiently constructed. The output was properly filtered with the output coils separated from the rest of the PA by a screen. It had ducted airflow through the PSU and over the PA board heatsink, with proper filters to keep the crud you usually find up blocks out of the box..... The owner said that he paid ~£890 for it, including a link receiver. It did a genuine 300+ Watts, and was very clean. There were no detectable spurs, and the worst harmonic was around -72 dBc....

I priced up the parts that went into it, and the constructor probably charged around £200 for his knowledge and skill and several hours to make it.

That's pretty cheap in my book!

890! Wow!

I guess people forget the labour intensive aspect of building a rig!

It is some serious work hours preparing the housing, Drilling and tapping heatsinks etc...

Then the assembly of PCBs! Testing and verification that everything works as it should!

It is not like some automated production line!

No one’s buying rigs for £890 😂

I’d want 600w for that.

I said I need some photos of one you’ve made before. You’ve commented on here but still not answered my emails. Now everyone is seeing what’s going on.

I’m not disputing the fact that your making it or not. But your not responding, how am I meant to know what’s going on ?
