Re: Unique radio
Things are nothing like as hard for pirate stations now as they were in the 1980s taking the IRN news as it was called then was so difficult it would mean a raid straight away that's why they all stopped then

Re: Unique radio
In the late 80's we knew of a remote studio (used for interviews) that was in the basement of a tower block and was fed with a 'clean feed' from the studio when it was not in use, which included IRN (and later Network News). We managed to take a feed from the incoming audio to a Band-I transmitter which we hid under the desk in the studio. A coax cable was run all the way to an antenna on the roof. The transmitter power was probably no more than 100 mW but it carried a good couple of miles and we used it to provide news, when we needed it, for a number of years. It was only when the studio was decomissioned as the station it belonged to no longer needed it that the TX was found and turned off!
if it ain't broke, keep tweaking
