Select Radio
Select Radio is now testing on 94.4 from Countisbury House, ahead of a a full FM launch. Lovely strong stereo signal here in Bermondsey SE1.

94.4 used to be "Voice of Africa" from Tower Hamlets. That didn't last long because they couldn't pay their licence fees and PRS. They were run by volunteers, and were not allowed to make money under the stupid "Community" licence rules.

Site height: 106 metres
Aerial height: 30 meters
In-Use ERP (H): 12 watts
In-Use ERP (V): 50 watts
Licenced ERP (H): 50 watts
Licenced ERP (V): 50 watts
I live 4.7 miles due north of the site, as the crow flies, and it's a really strong signal here. It's amazing what can be achieved with 50 watts, when properly engineered.

I knew that they asked to move because of pirates useing 94.2 and 4 that ofcom couldn't get rid off and the station on 97.1 now was one of them on 94.2

Now on Trial London at 32kbps stereo DAB+ as well as 94.4 FM.
