Re: BaseFm Manchester
They play out a lot of pre recorded shows they have either downloaded or recorded from stream , they even admitted this was to help provide extra content ror you guys, they cant be there 247, and its better than switching off, d0me shows i know are usually paid for syndicate shows but i don't know if they psid the djs for that content (or ev4n if they know they are going out on a pirate... still thats what its all about. They have previously swid sorry and taken certain mp3 shows off air they say was in rotation by mistake,it happens when you have large library of music snd dont have as much time as you woukd like to vet everything you play.

Not sure if this is still on, but not getting anything now around our way. Admittedly, I am a long way from Manchester, but the signal on the Runcorn Bridge was very listenable, all the way into Hunts Cross, a couple of weeks ago.

Re: BaseFm Manchester
As of last weekend the power's gone down, meaning no coverage in some areas where you would have been getting a half decent signal. Also, no content in the stream for a few hours on Sunday. So both of these things might have contributed depending on when you were listening.

Yeah - no coverage at all over here now. Nothing on the bridge, in Rainhill, Hunts Cross or anywhere that it was coming in before. Nice while it lasted!shuffy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 2:00 pmAs of last weekend the power's gone down, meaning no coverage in some areas where you would have been getting a half decent signal. I’m getting some soul station on 100.8FM that’s popped up recently and I think it’s a mainstream station.

Almost certainly the Base tx. It's re-broadcasting Panacea, which I think is a local DAB station.

101.4 ? I can’t hear anything, what you getting ? Wasn’t that Overdrive or are you saying that base have had to move there from 100.8
100.8 is currently relay of Panacea but signal strength is same as Base was to me, can’t think why they would relay that tho

I occasionally get base fm on 101.4 in Bolton area. I’ve never heard overdrive but would like to hear it!
Looks like Panacea has replaced basefm on 100.8.
The transmission team at base are pretty good and if I had a radio station and the money I would pay them to keep me air borne

But panacea on dab is a licensed station, they wouldn't risk loosing their license, friend of mine says he watched the rds change from base and the tx is essentially base rebroadcasting panacea, but why/? I considered asking them to out up an antenna on the roof next to theirs, but i doubt they would have done it.

I agree it’s pretty bizarre tbh!
it’s sounds mainstream but will be getting more credibility if on the airwaves!
they could just deny the transmission is their doing!
the signal has dropped off and I’m not sure where they transmit from as I’ve been round and about.
