Anyone recognise this driver ?

Everything technical about radio can be discussed here, whether it's transmitting or receiving. Guides, charts, diagrams, etc. are all welcome.

It looks like one of the old BW boards from around 15 years ago but don't quote me on that!

...I know someone that will know though but it's a matter of being bothered to ask him for you.

It could be a copy built by G****, south London....

Haha. Not so long ago I'd have been more than happy to help. Have a great evening.

Lol it looks like a copy from this picture
I had made a copy of a BW board using a SAA1057
And someone here in Holland made a new layout for it and now again a new copy of my board :)

Thanks for picture RF-HEAD gives me an idea as I bought a few of thoses metal enclosures at a radio rally long time ago and was going to flog them on but I'll keep one for now (or the rest) to house it in. Got a few different sizes but some are the same as the DB6NT transverters if you know what his GHz stuff is like ;)

Its shit !!

Wrong values and has no regulators for oscillator, therefore hums around high Levels of RF such as a 100w amp. Also only has one varicap for audio and pll so at different voltages from the PLL makes audio sound different as audio is modulated onto the tuning voltage. There is also no pll filtering apart from from eletrolitic cap so you can hear a high pitch whistle with the audio modulation, sounds like an mp3 with the high frequency noise. Stay clear!!!

The picture RF head has posted includes the regulator for osc and other bits, its much better

And hello everyone, been a while !

Just tried to analyse the circuit, doesn't look like a copy of any BW stuff I've seen. R always liked the motorola PLLs, never seen him use an SAA1057. The 2N3866 as PA sets it apart too.

Welcome back Berlin, I was wondering if you'd disappeared or if you were hiding amongst the "new" names on this version of RN!
He said shuffy! I said WOT? Woo!

Welcome back berlin :)
The board i made about 15 years ago was using the RF part from BW but the 145170 was in that time expencive and almost impossible to get here in the Netherlands
So i used the "pira pll"with the SAA1057
Changed the loopfilter and made about 100 pieces of this board(for a webshop fmzenders.com)
Later i made many other designs (see picture)
Because i was not happy with the PLL part and osc
2N3866 is not the wright way i think :)

Here is schematic of BW driver board. RF Head's version is obviously different than this. Also, BW had filtering on power supply, and their design is not no tune. You neex to set frequency with changable coil to have about 5-6 volts on varicap.
