Nothing has been received in Leeds on 87.7 so the Wk-End relay is either flea powered or on the fringes of West Yorkshire. I've been and parked up static in the high clear send of point areas around Leeds and getting nothing on 87.7 at all on varying times of the day.

Wk-End is normally on 100.8 but it isn't on at the moment, 87.7 for me was MAR from Liverpool, didn't hear anything else on that frequency.Frequent Lee wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 2:28 am Nothing has been received in Leeds on 87.7 so the Wk-End relay is either flea powered or on the fringes of West Yorkshire. I got something playing dance strong signal, I think it might be quite local, maybe further south I don’t know, i’ve been walking around on high ground nothing heard, there was something different there in one spot, might of been clermont carn.Frequent Lee wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 2:28 am Nothing has been received in Leeds on 87.7 so the Wk-End relay is either flea powered or on the fringes of West Yorkshire. Re: Any pirates in Greater Manchester area?
Yes Luke I can answer that for you. This is actually part human error and part system error most of the time tbh. As the DJ finishes his/her show...the auto pilot is selected to take over. Once or twice the wrong button can be pressed and the adverts go on a continuous loop until the system is physically reset. I can only apologise for any inconvenience if this happens. Also just a quick update while I'm here...we are working on a return to all our usual places in the next few weeks...thanks for your patience during any downtime. I'm sure most here appreciate the struggles we have at times.lukefowler2024 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 10:40 pm does anyone know why sometimes on wkend radio it keeps playing a set of ads on a loop and no music, currently playing the same ad again and again!

I was live Thursday drive time 12/09/24...infact I went through until 8pm. The joke right now is that I'm 'agency staff' and I jump on as and when needed which suits me tbh at the moment. Thanks for locking in and the kind comments. Any time you need to reach the studio when a DJ is live on air is via WhatsApp on 07551 887 997tokingmenace wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 9:29 pm Had you on this afternoon, sounding good. Hi Pete obvs it's a public forum so how do i say this erm well imagine a jigsaw and you have all but the last piece. You can see it will be finished and complete very quickly once the final piece falls into place. The final piece has took a lot longer to source than we expected and we apologise for that. Right now we're the 99% club. Close..but not lit the cigar yet....yet!

Bro I'm with you 100% on that statement. If this jigsaw had a name it would be Karen. If it was only the 1990s this conversation would not be happening. The senareo is like waiting for a bus right now...and hoping that 3 actually do come at once. All jokes aside ladies and gents...as I say...close...keep the faith

Re: Any pirates in Greater Manchester area?
Laser yes great station from Moss Side with Rapmaster Sam Brown Mighty Mike Tyson Eric B Lascelles Lolita Fox and Super T to name but a few. Pretty sure Sam was also running ICR with Randolf Mic (RIP) at the same time as Laser in 1988ish. Soul nations studio was hidden on the Alexandra Park Estate in Moss Side for a time before they moved to Chorlton. As for their rig...a closely guarded secret...but most say it was around Deansgate/Chester road area of the city. But who knows.

Yes I remember soul nation being in the block that overlooks the key103 car park , near duke 92, liked it, and i’m old enough to have been around at the same time as Lazer etc, good times. Unity annd wbls too.
Anyway. I’m sure Manchester can’t wait to get another station back on those limited frequencies left, good luck

Lee...coming in 2025 we have a new film coming out made exclusively by the team behind Wk-End radio. Filmed over the last 3yrs, we will hope to show what a typical WK-End in our life looks like. Included in the film we take you backstage at various events including this year's Parklife Festival in Manchester and as part of the film we will be revisiting the 1980s and 1990s heyday of London & Manchester's former and current pirate stations. We invited ex and current pirate DJs to talk about the highs and the lows of radio from London, but also included in the film we take you back to the former transmitter sites and studios of Manchester's stations with DJs from Manchester's pirate radio scene including myself and Eric B from Buzz FM and DJs from WBLS, Lazer, Ital, Soul Nation, North Soul and we speak to Greens who managed the pirate station 106FM which then went on to form Unity Radio which still broadcasts legally in Manchester to this day.
Also the team at Unity Radio have been in touch with me to help organise a 'Manchester pirate special' where we will bring former pirate DJs back to the air to do interviews and live shows on Unity Radio for a month long celebration of the former Manchester pirate scene. Again this is to be some time in 2025 dates TBC.
And last thing while I'm here...the Manchester Hip Hop Archive will be out again in 2025 at various pop up sites across the city. We have many items on display including clothing from the day, stereo equipment from the day, posters, flyers and photographs, tapes and record's, graff and 106FMs original PLL transmitter plus much more. The exhibition is ALWAYS FREE so if you have never been, were well worth a look. For more info and pics of past events...search for the Manchester Hip Hop Archive on Instagram. Thanks all. Snow
Edit: Short film of the archive when I took Lewis down last year.

Re: Any pirates in Greater Manchester area?
Very interesting
But why do these kinds of things always miss out many of the other pirates, including some 24/7 ones. Although I should probably hold off making a sweeping statement like that till I’ve seen it, anything pirate radio is good to see in my opinion, as is remembering the 80s which makes me feel all warm n fuzzy.
Thanks for the info
